「北欧の神秘」展は、1900年前後の世紀の変わり目に生まれた、ノルウェー、フィンランド、スウェーデンの北欧3カ国の芸術におけるテーマに焦点をあてた展覧会です。
本展では、オスロのノルウェー国立美術館、ストックホルムのスウェーデン国立美術館、ヘルシンキのフィンランド国立アテネウム美術館という北欧3カ国の国立美術館のコレクションから、各国を代表する画家たちの作品約70点を集結させた北欧絵画の入門書というべきものです。
