ICONS - A photo exhibition about the right to exist (Olten, 7 Sept. – 8 Oct.)

29 Aug 2024

“Icons” is an exhibition of portraits of famous icons and archetypes that we all know or can identify with. The images depict universal dreams and the desire to be part of pop culture, art, or society. However, our icons are portrayed by people who have rarely - if ever - been allowed to appear, even though they have always been among us. The 21 models from all over Sweden have many things in common: dreams, feelings, and Down syndrome.

An inclusive photo project by Glada Hudik-teatern and Fotografiska Stockholm, one of the world’s largest centers for contemporary photography. The exhibition is a collaboration between Pär Johansson, director of Glada Hudik Theatre, photographer Emma Svensson and costume designers Linda Sandberg and Helena Andersson. Under the patronage of the Swedish Embassy and in collaboration with Turiba.ch.

Vernissage: 6 September (18:30) : with Ida and Miranda Johansson, Glada Hudik, live music by Bernarda and a Swedish apéro
Exhibition: 7 Sept. – 6 October
