Information regarding citizens of Rwanda applying for a Schengen visa to Sweden
From 17 of March 2025 will visa applications to Sweden be processed by the Swedish Embassy in Kenya via VFS Global.
Citizens of Rwanda can apply at any VFS visa application centre in the following countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Welcome to VFS Global | For Individuals | Home.
Please note that when you submit an application in any of the above-mentioned countries, you will not be able to keep your passport while your visa is being processed as the passport will be sent to the Swedish Embassy in Kenya.
The Schengen visa application process is usually 15 days but can be extended up to 45 days under certain circumstances. The days are counted from the date the embassy receive the application.
