Information for swedes in Russia

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises against all travel to Russia. The general security situation in the region has deteriorated. Swedes who are in Russia are encouraged to follow the development of events via international mass media and the embassy's travel information, sign up for  the Swedish list and download the app UD Resklar. Don't forget to unsubscribe from the list when you leave the country. Check that your passport is valid.

The airspace in Russia and surrounding countries has been closed or restricted to flights from Russia. It can therefore be significantly more difficult for those who plan to leave the country to find transport alternatives. If you are in Russia, it may be a good idea to immediately review your travel options.

It is no longer possible to use foreign payment cards in card terminals or withdraw cash from ATMs with them.

A sharp deterioration in the security situation may limit the Embassy's ability to provide consular support.
