Welcome to the Embassy of Sweden in Moscow, Russia. The Embassy of Sweden in Moscow is one of Sweden's largest missions abroad. The Embassy's task is to represent Sweden and the Swedish Government in Russia, and to promote Sweden's interests.
The Economic Department monitors the economic development in the country of stationing, including the situation for Swedish companies.
The Political Department is responsible for reporting on the political situation and developments in Russia, including the human rights situation, on Russian foreign policy, and for Swedish-Russian relations.
The Migration Department receives applications for visas and residence and work permits from Russian citizens and others legally residing in the Russian Federation.
The Administrative Department supports the rest of the Embassy in all kinds of practical and administrative matters. The department also has a consular function and thereby assists Swedish citizens who have been in difficulty, such as losing their passport, in Russia.
The Defence Department monitors military and security policy developments in the host country.
