"The cooperation between the Nordic and Nordic-Baltic countries is central to deal with both regional and global challenges", says Mr Billström, introducing the programme for Sweden's upcoming period as chair of the Nordic Council and the Nordic-Baltic cooperation.
Sweden will hold the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers and chair the informal Nordic and Nordic-Baltic foreign and security policy cooperation formats – N5 and NB8 – in 2024. Nordic cooperation is one of the oldest cooperation formats in the world. We will work to strengthen Nordic cooperation and its position as one of the most innovative and competitive regions in the world.

Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
