European Parliament Election 2024

The 2024 European Parliament Election is scheduled for 9 June 2024. Swedish citizens living abroad can vote at the Consulate General of Sweden in Hong Kong.

How to vote from overseas – Information from Valmyndigheten 

Opening hours for the Election are:

Monday, 27 May 2024, 09:00-12:00
Tuesday, 28 May 2024, 09:00-13:00
Wednesday, 29 May 2024, 13:00-19:00
Thursday, 30 May 2024, 13:00-16:30
Friday, 31 May 2024, 09:00-12:00

Please bring your Swedish Passport / Swedish ID-Card or your Swedish driving license along with a valid voting card.

You must apply to the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) every ten years to be included on the electoral roll for a further ten years. Before the election, the Election Authority (Valmyndigheten) sends out expatriate voting cards and postal voting materials to all Swedes who are listed with the Tax Agency as resident outside Sweden 30 days before election. In order to be included on the electoral roll you must complete the form "Ny adress/röstlängd för utvandrad" and send it to the Swedish Tax Agency.

Postal voting is possible from 25 April 2024. You can find more information about early voting by clicking here. Please observe that you CANNOT hand in your postal vote at the Consulate General.
