November 3-4, the Swedish Romeo and Juliet Choir will commemorate Ingmar Bergman’s 100th birthday with the musical Wood Painting.
Ingmar Bergman wrote the play Wood Painting with the inspiration from a Medieval church painting, which story he would later adapt into The Seventh Seal. The Romeo and Juliet Choir presents the Bergman play to music created by musical composition students from Malmö, Stockholm and Gothenburg.
Established in 1991, the Romeo and Juliet Choir was founded during a production of Romeo and Juliet at the Royal Dramatic Theater. The choir has toured in more than 30 countries, performed at the Nobel Prize banquet on five separate occasions and at the wedding of Crown Princess Viktoria and Prince Daniel in 2010.
