New Swedish Ambassador to China submits credentials to Chinese President Xi Jinping
On Tuesday 30 January 2024, Sweden’s Ambassador to China, Per Augustsson, presented his letters of credentials to the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.
This is Ambassador Augustsson’s second posting to Beijing - he was Deputy Head of Mission from 2014 to 2017. Before moving to Beijing, Ambassador Augustsson was Consul General of Sweden in Hong Kong and Macau. Previous postings include London, New York and Zagreb.
Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
