Anyone applying for a residence permit to travel to Sweden will now have to show their passport in person before a decision on a residence permit can be made. Outside of Sweden, this visit can be made at a Swedish Embassy. It is not possible to visit a Swedish Honorary Consulate. The new procedures will apply from 1 November 2022, and will apply to both new and already ongoing applications. More information from the Swedish Migration Agency can be found below.
