Sweden has supported a four year project on Forests for Local Economic Development (FLED) which had its closing event on the 21st of November.
Around 100 participants from forest user associations, municipalities and different institutions had gathered to take stock of the results made and to discuss future challenges. Among many things FLED has resulted in increased revenue from non-timber forest products; increased capacity of both forest user associations and municipalities and women have increased their capacity and influence in the forest users associations’ activities.
