Information about Schengen visas

There is currently no possibility to submit Schengen visa applications in Pakistan to visit Sweden. Citizens and residents in Pakistan who want to apply for a Schengen visa to visit Sweden are referred to submit their application at VFS Global in Bangkok, Yangon, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Cebu, Jakarta, Bali, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Tokyo or Seoul.

Applications are submitted in person at a VFS application centre. It is not possible to send applications by mail or courier as the original passport must be submitted together with the application. Most visa applicants also need to leave biometrics (fingerprints and photo) at the time of application. After an application has been submitted to VFS Global, it is sent together with the passport to the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok for processing and decision. As it is a requirement to submit the passport of the applicant when applying, kindly note that it will not be possible to retrieve the passport during the processing and delivery time. Applicants should plan for 21 days from handing in the application at VFS Global until the passport and decision are returned. This time includes a general processing time of 15 days and transport and delivery of application and passport, which may take up to six days.  The applicant is informed on the decision on the visa application as it is handed out together with the passport by VFS Global in the location of application. Visa applicants are strongly advised to plan accordingly and to book a changeable flight ticket. There is no possibility to expedite this processing time and there is no option of express/priority processing.

It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to choose where to hand in the application and to arrange for a visa in the chosen location, if required by that country. The Embassy of Sweden will not be able to assist or give information in any matters of entry permit or visa to the country the applicant chooses.

Visa applications can be lodged six months prior to the start of the intended visit.
