Sweden & Ethiopia

Applicants from Pakistan

On April 9, the Swedish Migration Agency will resume its residence and work permit activities in Pakistan. Applicants needing to submit biometric data, have their passport checked or be interviewed after submitting an application can once again do so at the embassy in Islamabad. This does not apply to those who are applying for a Schengen visa to visit Sweden for a short stay.

Previous requirements to travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia are being removed. If you have been asked to make an appointment for an investigation and have already contacted the Swedish Embassy in either Islamabad or Addis Ababa, you should not contact the embassy or the Swedish Migration Agency again. If your application was previously being processed by the Embassy of Sweden in Addis Ababa, it will be transferred to Islamabad automatically. You will keep your place in the queue.

You will automatically receive an email from the embassy in Islamabad with information about the time and date when it is time to carry out your investigation.

For more information see Pakistan, Islamabad - Sweden Abroad

If you, as a Pakistani citizen or resident of Pakistan, wish to apply for a Schengen visa to visit Sweden for a shorter period (up to 90 days), you should still submit your application to VFS Global in Bangkok, Yangon, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Cebu, Jakarta, Bali, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Tokyo or Seoul.
