Accept all Only criticalAll applicants 18 and older must personally pick up a new passport/national ID card. In the US, you can pick it up at the Embassy of Sweden in Washington DC, at the Consulate General in New York or San Francisco, or at any of the Honorary Consulates around the country.
Swedish passports and National ID-cards are manufactured in Sweden and then sent to the different Swedish missions abroad. At the time of application you will let the passport officer know where you would like to pick up your new passport/ID-card.
You must pick up a new passport, ID-card or driver license in person and you can to this at any consulate in the U.S. or at the Embassy in Washington DC.
You need to bring your old passport/driver license/national ID-card when you pick up the new one. A parent/legal guardian can pick up a new passport for a minor (under age 18). Alla applicants 18 and older must pick up their passports in person.

For pickup of the new passport/ID-card at a consulate/embassy other than the one at which the application was submitted, there is a additional processing fee, and sometimes also a shipping fee, payable at time of pick-up.
