The Embassy of Sweden in Ottawa is the only passport authority in Canada, In order to apply for a passport or ID-card one (including children) must personally visit the Embassy.

Swedish citizens have the option when visiting Sweden to apply for a passport/ID-card at the swedish police. Please book directly through the police. When applying in Sweden there is a possibility to have the passport issued and then sent to a swedish embassy or consulat abroad (additional fee)
The passport usually arrives at the Embassy after 4-5 weeks.
